Comexi and Wikoff partner on sustainability at Drupa

Comexi and Wikoff Color Corporation are to partner at Drupa 2012 and showcase printing of food packaging using low-migration, solvent-free inks on a central impression offset press.

The Comexi Offset CI8 press will demonstrate the possibilities of offset printing on a light gauge plastic material, thanks to the central impression layout. Comexi said this offers lower costs per sq m, in-house production of offset plates within minutes, decreased ecological impact due to solvent-free EB offset inks, high-quality printing and higher energy efficiency.

'Sustainable printing is at a turning point'

Wikoff will highlight its commitment to sustainable printing by showcasing Regal EB lithographic inks, which are a set of process colors that have excellent print properties and offer stable performance on-press, it said, as well as offering sharp printing and good adhesion properties when applied to paper, paperboard and plastic films.

A Comexi spokesperson said: 'Sustainable printing is at a turning point. Visit us at Drupa 2012, Hall 10, stand C62 where both companies are eager to share their achievements and will invite you to join them on the pathway to sustainability.'
