Reid Label forms New England Label Group with acquisition

Reid Label has acquired Vermont, USA-based New England Label from Willington Nameplate to expand the prime label converter’s presence in New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, and southern Canada. In October of 2002, Reid Label acquired Package Systems of Connecticut, USA moving the operation into the 65,000 sq. ft. Reid facility in Andover, Massachusetts, USA. The New England Label Group has been formed as a management company to facilitate future acquisitions and manage the individual entities.

Said Steve Dunlevy, Reid Label president and CEO, ‘we are thrilled to announce the second major acquisition in our company’s history. Our growth plan has been through a mixture of organic sales and external acquisitions and we will continue to actively pursue these types of transactions & synergistic partnerships over the coming years.’

Dunlevy’s two children, Kara and Ryan Dunlevy, are key personnel responsible for growing the business. Dunlevy continued, ‘The group is excited about growth plans and I am personally excited to have both my daughter and son on board to help take our organization to the next level. Some of my industry peers have a challenge with succession planning and I want to encourage them to discuss possible partnerships with our organization as they start to think about retirement.’

Said Mike Goepfert, Willington Nameplate CEO, ‘Willington Nameplate’s main business is manufacturing permanent labeling solutions for OEM, automotive, aerospace and Department of Defense applications. Our New England Label business wasn’t part of our core focus.’

Already, the majority of New England Label’s prime label business produced using flexographic presses has been shifted to Reid Label’s existing HP Indigo digital label equipment to deliver operational gains.
