Calbee, a Japanese snack food company, has confirmed it will temporarily change the colors of its packaging for some products due to supply disruptions caused by the ongoing Middle East conflict.

Beginning the week of May 25, the company will roll out new black-and-white packaging for fourteen of its products. This includes a variety of its potato chips, Kappa Ebisen snacks and Frugra granola. The change will not affect product quality.

This change is intended to help maintain a stable supply of products amid the war, which has disrupted the supply chain for many raw materials.

According to Reuters, Japan imports 40 percent of its naphtha, an oil needed for printing inks, from the Middle East.
