GEW has appointed Maquinarium Representação Industrial to represent its label and narrow web business across Brazil with immediate effect.

The company, based in Sao Paolo, was founded in 2016 by Fernando Albuquerque, who had previously worked as an executive in large capital goods companies for many years. Maquinarium represents leading manufacturers of technological machinery in the flexible packaging, converting and labelling sectors. Its stated mission is ‘to bring represented companies closer to customers, through industry expertise and exemplary service’. Representing several global brands including AB Graphic, Tesa and Meech International, the company is an established member of the narrow web printing community in Brazil.

Albuquerque commented: ‘At Maquinarium we have developed certain principles that have helped us to succeed in this market for many years. We believe in focusing purely on the market we operate in, which helps our customers to see us as a reference and earn their trust through ethics, transparency, responsibility, and agility.

He added that Maquinarium believes in being present with its customers, to fully understand their demands and provide solutions accordingly. ‘We strive to be a strategic partner to our clients by identifying their needs, generating sales, producing, delivering, and installing the machines that we represent.’

Amir Dekel, VP sales at GEW, highlighted the benefits that the new partnership will bring for GEW customers: ‘Maquinarium has an excellent team of service technicians and sales managers, all of whom have long experience in narrow web. The company is well respected in Brazil, and Fernando and his team share our expectations and goals for increasing UV and LED retrofits across the country. They will also stock a comprehensive range of GEW spare parts and offer a repair service for our RLT power supplies, in-house, to support this market with fast, localized service and support.’

Vini Munzberg, sales manager for Latin America at GEW, added: ‘We share Maquinarium’s philosophy on being present at customers and we will be working hard to ensure that customers see this, through our responsive and proactive service.’

Albuquerque concluded: ‘We are proud to have the support and opportunity provided by GEW, but we also acknowledge the responsibility that comes with it. We look forward to the exciting journey ahead of us in our new partnership.’
