2011 is record year for Autobox

Autobox Machinery reported record sales in 2011 with turnover up some 50 percent on 2010.
The UK cardboard and corrugated box making machine specialist said growth has been achieved both in the UK and through overseas markets, with export sales now accounting for over 70 percent of turnover.
During 2011, machines were shipped to over 20 different countries from its Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire location, with customers ranging from small to large volume box plants and print package companies making their own boxes in-house. Autobox added that the introduction of new machines such as the HiPak and HiCut Quick Set box maker, coupled with a proactive sales drive, has contributed to growth and record sales.
Two years of intensive research and development has seen the Autobox range completely updated with machines now capable of running over 100 different FEFCO box styles all with typical 60 seconds, tool-less make-ready times. The recently launched HiFlex range of single- and two-color flexo printers, servo driven for quick set-up and accurate print registration, have further enhanced the Autobox range.
Barry Tabor, Autobox managing director, said: ‘We have been working hard to develop our machines to enable companies to adapt to the increasing demand for short run orders. Box plants are replacing older converting equipment with our machines whilst print package companies are installing Autobox machines to produce in-house, bespoke sized boxes and other corrugated packaging.
‘We enter 2012 with a very healthy forward order book and will continue our sales drive into new export markets.’
