Canada’s Design Label Systems to install Durst Tau 330 with in-line laser finishing
Canada’s Design Label Systems has purchased a 7-color Durst Tau 330 UV inkjet digital press with in-line laser finishing to facilitate operational savings and a faster turnaround.

Design Label Systems provides printed labels and packaging to a wide range of industries, including food, household products, health and beauty, wine and spirits, pharmaceutical, petrochemical and manufacturing.
The Tau 330 ordered by Design Label Systems features an in‐line digital laser finishing system from Smag Graphique. Installation is scheduled for January 2016 at Design Label Systems’ 25,000 sq ft facility outside Toronto.
Company president Zeb Faruqui said that after extensive research, Design Label Systems identified the Tau 330 as its machine of choice, citing ‘significant' operational savings as well as faster turnaround as the main reasons behind the company’s investment decision. Design Label Systems, Faruqui said, is looking forward to the digital press’ lower cost-per-print and better responsiveness for its clients. Nearly 40 percent of its jobs are below 7,000ft, he noted.
‘The decision was sealed after our staff attended Labelexpo in Brussels earlier this year and came back with a glowing recommendation that verified our preliminary research. And our experience with Durst has been great. We’re looking forward to having the Tau on-site in January.’
