Printers and converters need bespoke material handling systems
Bespoke material handling solutions tailored to the needs of individual printers and converters are the preferred choice for those looking to streamline their handling of material rolls and stacks, according to Cason Handling.
All printers and converters are required to handle materials throughout the production cycle of packaging and labels, from loading virgin webs into the unwind system to packing and palletizing stacks or rewound rolls in the post-press environment.
'The gain for the efficiency of the production system is not quantifiable, but in each case plant and solutions must be studied according to the production and logistics situation'
Cason Handling is the recently launched materials handling division of Italian machinery manufacturer Cason Spa, and according to Massimo Soffritti, the man heading up the division, there is no such thing as an “off-the-shelf” solution to this need.
Soffritti said: ‘The gain for the efficiency of the production system is not quantifiable, but in each case plant and solutions must be studied according to the production and logistics situation.
‘The plant must be studied by specialists in collaboration with the company to take into consideration all aspects of production and logistics. A “solution” does not exist; instead customized systems that offer tried and tested functionality are preferable. The combination of experience and innovation contribute to an installation in agreement with the customer’s requests and targets.’
Process automation, production planning and increased machinery efficiency are some of the benefits offered by an effective material handling solution, said Soffritti.
‘Cason Handling’s mission is to realize highly personalized plant according to customer’s needs…custom-made in order to solve the problems exposed; a customized project according to the customer’s needs, space and targets.’
