Michelman joins 4evergreen alliance

4evergreen is a cross-industry alliance formed to boost the contribution of fiber-based packaging in a more sustainable and circular economy. The three-year-long project brings together a diverse network of organizations and stakeholders throughout the value chain, including brand owners, suppliers, packaging convertors, and recyclers, etc. to develop the best solutions for the future of fiber-based packaging,

‘As a supplier to companies throughout the entire packaging value chain, we want to help transition the industry into more sustainable packaging,’ said Lisa DiGate, vice president of the Printing and Packaging division of Michelman. ‘Our barrier coatings help improve fiber-based packaging’s functionality and performance while allowing it to be recyclable, which reduces waste and enables valuable fiber resources to be re-used many times.’

4evergreen members include UPM RaflatacSappi and DS Smith, Nestlé, Danone, Stora Enso, Metsä Board, Smurfit Kappa, Mayr-Melnhof Group, Reno de Medici, Kotkamills, Ahlstrom Munksjö, International Paper, BillerudKorsnäs, Huhtamäki, SEDA, SIG Combibloc, Tetra Pak, Elopak, Walki, Schur Group, Cardbox Packaging, and Firstan. The alliance is welcoming more organizations to join the collaboration.
