Mondi ranked as Top Performer by WBSCD

Mondi’s reporting on its contributions to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) has been identified by WBSCD as best-in-class. This recognition acknowledges how Mondi’s overall corporate strategy is aligned with the SDGs.

‘Setting ambitious targets and being transparent on how we report on our progress and performance are two compelling steps companies can take to help create a sustainable future. At Mondi, sustainability is intrinsic to how we do our business, so we are delighted that our efforts to produce exceptional reporting have been recognized once again,’ said Gladys Naylor, group head of sustainable development at Mondi.

WBCSD looked at 158 companies to analyze their sustainability reporting according to principles such as accessibility, stakeholder engagement and evidence of activities.

Luis Rochartre, director of the forest solutions group at WBCSD said: ‘Mondi has been a leading member of WBCSD’s Forest Solutions Group (FSG) for over ten years and is currently co-chairing the group. This leadership is demonstrated through Mondi’s continued presence among the top performers of WBCSD’s annual Reporting matters review process. Mondi has a strong foundation in the principles of sustainability reporting and successfully balances technical content with engaging user experience in its Sustainable Development report 2019.’

According to Mondi, part of the company’s success is the integration of sustainability into its strategy. Mondi identified the areas of sustainability most relevant to its business operations and mapped the relevant SDGs and targets against these.
