Siegwerk has handed over a new building to Government Senior Secondary School in Deengli Village, District Alwar in Rajasthan.

Constructed with an estimated cost of 95 lakhs INR, this all-new building was dedicated to the students of the village ensuring them the access to better infrastructure to pursue their education without any hassles. More than 250 underserved students of the village are benefited by modern and sustainable education infrastructure.

Prior to Siegwerk’s involvement, the government-run school building was extremely old and in a dilapidated condition with just three usable rooms, hence, unable to accommodate students of all the classes from 1 to 12 grade. After assessing the condition of the old school building, Siegwerk India took up the initiative to reconstruct a new building for the students studying at the government school.

The new school building constructed by Siegwerk houses basic amenities including eight classrooms, kitchen to prepare food for students, a dining room, toilet building and an office for the Principal of the school. With this modern infrastructure in place, the students of all classes can focus on their studies further excelling in their education and career in the future.

Speaking on Siegwerk India’s community development initiatives, Ashish Pradhan, president, Siegwerk India and Greater China said, ‘Reconstruction of this school building testifies our commitment to the society towards its inclusive and sustainable growth. We, at Siegwerk, strongly believe that the good physical infrastructure enables and encourages the students to go to school every day to build their bright career. With our various community development initiatives, we remain committed to contributing to the nation-building exercise which continues to inspire us to go a step further in supporting the society around us. I am happy to note that this new school building can support more than 250 underprivileged students to pursue their education in a remote village of rural Rajasthan.’

After handing over the new school building to the authorities, the local government officials appreciated the efforts of Siegwerk India for its contribution to the society and presented a token of appreciation in an event organized to facilitate the transfer of the school building. The enthused students performed various cultural programs to celebrate the new beginning at the renovated school.

As part of its community development and upliftment activities, Siegwerk India has been very active in supporting the schools by providing them the necessary infrastructure such as toilets, school buildings, stationary, school uniform, furniture apart from others. It also conducts annual sport events, children’s day celebrations, annual picnic and many more extracurricular activities for overall development of more than 1000 students of different government schools adopted by the company in Rajasthan.

Siegwerk is also supporting meritorious girls in helping them to pursue higher study like BSC nursing and boys to ITI training. Further, the company has started Siegwerk Scholarship program under the banner “Siegwerk India Vidyarthi Protsahan Yojna“ to recognize and support meritorious students doing well in Class X and Class XII board examinations in Rajasthan.
