Dan Labels installs Rotoflex VLI 600

Denmark’s Dan Labels has installed a Rotoflex VLI 600 for slitting of 600mm wide rolls of PP and PE material in a variety of thicknesses, and at high speed for long runs.

Established in 1987, Dan Labels initially produced labels for the Good Food Group but has since expanded into other markets, with two-thirds of production now serving other customers throughout Denmark and Europe.

Used for off-line finishing of unsupported film, the machine was chosen as it provides reliable slitting of 600mm wide rolls of PP and PE material with a variety of thicknesses, and at high speed for long runs. The decision to purchase the Rotoflex VLI slitter rewinder was made shortly after Dan Labels saw a live demo at the Mark Andy regional demonstration facility in Poland, accompanied by Mads Iversen of RR Print, a distributor of printing products and machinery based near Copenhagen.

Jakob Abildgård, production manager at Dan Labels, said: ‘Rotoflex was one of few manufactures that offers a 600mm wide finishing machine as standard, and after seeing it perform in Poland, we were convinced it was the best solution.

‘From our existing relationship with RR Print for consumables, we also had the assurance of dependable local support. In just two days our new VLI was up and running unsupported film, and impressed us with its high speed at over 600m/min. It has already outperformed our expectations.’
