The Graphium has been developed and manufactured by FFEI, and was launched at Labelexpo Europe 2013. FFEI recently announced a series of updates for the digital UV inkjet press, including over white and sync-to-mark. These upgrades will be presented at Labelexpo Americas 2014, where a Graphium press will feature on the Fujifilm stand, and include pre- and post-digital flexo stations, a cold foiling station and die-cutting unit.

Graphium has been developed for label, packaging and speciality print applications to increase margins and revenue streams on short to medium print runs. It is a modular press that can incorporate in-line flexo print and finishing, and undertake complex projects requiring a wide gamut of colors on most commonly used substrates. The press uses Fujifilm’s Uvijet Graphium ink, developed specifically for label and packaging applications.

The showroom model will allow printers and converters to ‘understand the wide range of label applications that can be printed digitally’, according to James Whitehead, product manager at Fujifilm Graphic Systems UK.

‘The Graphium is a great addition to the production portfolio in our Bedford showroom as it allows printers and converters to understand the wide range of label applications that can be printed digitally, and discover the new business opportunities that this technology can bring.’ Whitehead said.

‘We’re committed to promoting the adoption of digital inkjet technologies for the production of labels, packaging and speciality print, and the addition of the Graphium to our showroom allows interested parties to see the press in action.’
