International Label & Printing expands with Domino

International Label & Printing, a Chicago-area printer and converter of labels and package printing in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, continues to grow its business due to the multi-faceted capabilities with their new ‘CEI BossJet powered by Domino’ hybrid press.

The press was installed in December 2017.

‘We had been running roll-to-roll Domino N610i 5-color for about three years,’ said Mark Turk, president and CEO of International Label & Printing. ‘So we thought ok, let’s think about the growth and the future and some options and some choices that we might have. We approached the folks at Domino along with CEI, and developed this ‘CEI BossJet powered by Domino’. We all knew what the Domino could do, and CEI built the rest of it based on our specifications.’

The press, combines flexo and digital UV inkjet and can produce complex labels on a wide range of materials and substrates, with virtually unlimited printing and converting options.

Turk said: ‘We put in the ability to run on both sides of the web, to run multiple webs, pre-coat. And we have the Domino N610i 7-color extended gamut which really opened up some more market share for us. We can now do things like embellish the labels, spot varnish, foil stamp, laminate, special die-cutting, running also roll-to-sheet when necessary. And all of these choices came about because of our collaboration with Domino and their recognition of what we were looking for to grow our company.'

International Label & Printing had the press configured with two UV flexo print stations - one before and one after the Domino N610i 7-color digital UV inkjet print engine. It has a rail system with a cold foil tower with unwind and rewind, which allows it to run wet lamination or lamination with a liner. There is also a turn bar, and a second unwind and rewind unit for running multiple webs, as well as a sheeting stacker/conveyor for running roll-to-sheet applications. This hybrid configuration takes their business to the next level allowing them to expand their capabilities, make more money, do more for current customers, while gaining new customers as well.

International Label & Printing has been in business for 75 years, with Turk and his team at the helm of the business for the past quarter-century. In addition to pressure-sensitive labels and packaging, their capabilities also include design, business cards, booklets, broadsheet and tabloid printing, decals and cut vinyl, labels, OCR/barcoding, promotional products, sales kits, UV coating, thermal products, and more.
