Pezuch Printing adds Heidelberg die cutter and folder

Peczuh Printing, with three production facilities throughout Utah, is one of the largest printers in the state and plays a vital role in the supply chain for many industries. To better serve the dynamic needs of its growing customer base, Peczuh is set to install a new Promatrix 106 CS die cutter and Stahlfolder KH 82 from Heidelberg in the coming months.

Expanded capabilities, high quality finishing

While traditionally a commercial printer, Peczuh has seen an increased need for packaging, labels and inserts amongst its customers, especially in its growing pharmaceutical and nutraceutical business. The Promatrix 106 CS is the company’s first Heidelberg die cutter and is said to allow Peczuh to keep up with the rapid growth of the packaging business along Utah’s Wasatch Front. Running at speeds of 8,000 sheets per hour and cutting a wide range of materials from 60# text to 48 pt. board, according to Heidelberg, the Promatrix is a productive and cost-effective system for printers like Peczuh who are looking to expand into packaging.

'We’re going to be able to take on more packaging jobs without needing to outsource,' said Frank Peczuh, owner of Peczuh Printing. 'That means faster turnaround times and higher quality for our customers.'

Peczuh’s new Promatrix is also equipped with automatic waste stripping – which Heidelberg says further enhances the company’s packaging capabilities and efficiency.

In addition to expanding the packaging side of its business, Heidelberg sys that Peczuh also needed a better finishing system for its commercial applications. The company, who is equipped with two older folders, was struggling with slower speeds and production interruptions. Set to install at the end of the year, the new Stahlfolder KH 82 will contribute to more reliable and faster production for the thousands of brochures, magazines, and catalogs Peczuh produces every month. The cross-fold unit of the Stahlfolder KH not only offers faster makeready but will also improve Peczuh’s net output. The advanced automation on the machine allows jobs to be stored and recalled for quick and efficient job set-up. 'With the current shortage of skilled labor, this user-friendly technology will help us with our production,' said Peczuh. 'The KH 82 means we can run faster and more reliably and with less labor.'
