AB Graphic is to launch the all-new Digicon Series 3 label converting line at Labelexpo Americas 2014, which has been designed to meet the recent advances made in digital printing using the latest available technology.
The Digicon 3 will be unveiled at the September 9-11 show equipped with a number of features including flat-bed hot foiling, flexo printing, over laminating and a newly designed flat-bed UV screen printing unit offering much higher operating parameters capable of delivering ‘outstanding’ production speeds, AB Graphic said.
The new machine is available in a versatile left to right or right to left format, while the maximum web width has been increased to 350mm (13.75in), as well as the maximum unwind and rewind roll size increased to Ø800mm (31.5in).
The Digicon Series 3 features a host of ergonomic improvements to enhance the general operation and reduce set-up times significantly. This includes the use of the latest technology components, such as carbon fiber rollers and lighter non-stick ink cartridges, make for easier handling and quicker wash up.
Depending on the converting options selected, modules can be supplied in rotary, semi-rotary, blank web and re-register modes for processing a wide range of substrates.
One major design change has been to integrate all of the electrical controls and components, therefore negating the need for an external cabinet, and thus greatly reducing the footprint to free up space on the customer’s factory floor.
Further performance and technological advances will be unveiled during Labelexpo Americas 2014.
