Manroland picks up NPES award

German printing systems manufacturer and web offset specialist manroland has been awarded the 2011 Harold W. Gegenheimer Corporate Award for Industry Service by trade association NPES.
The Gegenheimer Award recognizes leadership and participation in NPES and industry activities, civic leadership and technical innovation. NPES is a US trade association representing more than 400 companies that manufacture and distribute equipment, software and supplies used across the workflow of nearly every printing, publishing and converting process.
NPES said manroland has been a top developer of computer integrated manufacturing for more than a decade. Recognized for providing leading innovations in printing systems, from commercial through publications to packaging printing, manroland was recently recognized with an InterTech Award for its Autoprint APL (automatic plate loading system).
In addition to being a consistent participant at industry tradeshows and events, manroland is described as an ‘enthusiastic supporter’ of NPES through the active involvement of its leadership on various association committees and task forces. In addition, manroland president Vince Lapinski recently served on the NPES board of directors.
Ralph J. Nappi, NPES president, said: ‘For its numerous industry and association contributions, manroland has been a steady force in our industry in both good and bad times, always supporting NPES and also other industry organizations.
‘Manroland exemplifies the dedication to our organization and our industry the Gegenheimer Award was designed to honor, and we are grateful to have benefited from the company's commitment to both.’
