Comexi CTec helps converters with pre-press integration

Comexi CTec has collaborated with Esko, Asahi and DuPont to offer a new service allowing converters integrate and fully control pre-press processes into their production facilities

The Manel Xifra Boada Technology Center, Comexi CTec, has collaborated with Esko, Asahi and DuPont to offer a new service allowing converters integrate and fully control pre-press processes into their production facilities.

Comexi CTec, which specializes in training, advice, and technical process support for the printing and converting sectors of the flexible packaging industry, has already incorporated the new service into its portfolio. This turnkey project is the collaboration of various partners, including Esko, Asahi and DuPont.

‘Pre-press control is an essential element of the process, regarding both efficiency and final product quality. With respect to competitiveness, being able to control this process is essential,’ explained Albert López, head of Comexi CTec. ‘The evolution of plate production technology towards a time to market response influenced by sustainability, suggests that over time, more and more converters will integrate pre-press into their own production process.’

In order to make the transition as easy as possible Comexi CTec is equipped with the necessary resources to offer its clients the possibility of integrating the entire pre-press workflow. The new service includes hardware, software, installation, optimization, training, and production support until the client is autonomously efficient.

Comexi offers an exposure system with solvent-free plates and water-based or thermal processing technology able to produce plates ready for production in 50 minutes.

The estimated time to complete the project at the client’s site is approximately six months.
