Curtis Intone offers instantly verifiable security solution
Curtis Secure Intone is a new security feature from Scotland-based Curtis Fine Papers.
Designed for high value ticketing and packaging applications, Intone board features an internal layer of color which can be easily revealed either by tearing the sheet or by shining a light through it.
Tickets printed on Curtis Secure Intone can be instantly and easily checked at event entry. The light and reveal verification option is also ideal for packaging applications, where a product can be easily authenticated by shining a light through its packaging. Luxury goods at risk from fraud such as perfumes and pharmaceuticals can be protected in this non-destructive way.
Ken Thom, technical sales director at Curtis, said: ‘The effectiveness of Curtis Secure Intone lies in its simplicity of use. Ticket issuers can verify the authenticity of tickets at event entry, by tearing them, or by using a torch or similar lighting device to show up the colored Intone insert. The speed of verification allows for rapid processing avoiding ticket gate delays at sporting, entertainment and other prestigious events.’
The Intone feature is created by Curtis during the paper manufacturing process, minimizing the risk of replication of products printed on Intone board.
Intone products appear standard under normal light. For example, a white board with a red Intone built in will appear white under normal light, but the red is revealed under the more intensive light of a torch, and on tearing. In addition, Intone can be combined with many other security features to enhance the product, such as visible or UV fluorescent fibers, watermarking, and even what Curtis is calling ‘Dualtouch’ where contrasting textures on either side of the board lead to instant fingertip verification.
Curtis Secure Intone is available on a make to order basis custom made to client demand. It is available from a minimum grammage of 180g/m2 from as little as two tonnes in reels or sheets. Customers can choose from a huge potential range of Intone bespoke color options.
Curtis Fine Papers has produced a stylish promotional folder highlighting the unique ‘light and reveal’ aspect of Curtis Intone. Designed by D8 of Glasgow, the promotional folder contains printed samples on various Intone products showing how the flexible Intone feature works equally well on textured sheets, watermarks and even on areas of heavy print coverage. A variety of different Intone colors are shown.
Ken Thom concluded: ‘The new promotional folder will help our sales teams present Curtis Intone, by showing applications for the product and allowing them to demonstrate how simple it is to use.’
