With a whole new range of products and services to be launched at Labelexpo Europe 2007, Gallus will extend its offerings to converters to suit their increased need for productivity and value-add converting technologies.

‘We will illustrate the benefits to be gained with a Gallus partnership, using our advanced technologies and services enabling a profitable business and having the answers for today’s and tomorrow’s demands of our industry,’ said Felix Egger, vice president sales and marketing.

Gallus will show the latest developments on three of its press product lines. These include the Gallus RCS line, the world’s only fully direct servo driven press. ‘The industry’s highest level of automation allows a true lean manufacturing / Pit Stop concept for highest productivity,’ said the company in a statement. With the new web width of 430mm, the Gallus RCS 430 will be running a high-quality beauty care label with offset in combination with screen, cold foil and flexo followed by a typical wet-glue beverage offset application.

A new web width is also on the agenda for the multisubstrate and multiprocess Gallus EM 340/410/510 S which will be shown in the new 340mm version, with its hybrid servo driven print cylinder and sleeve technology running a flexo/screen combination job with multi stream cold foil.

The over many years gradually evolved ‘entry level’ Gallus EM 280 has a new outfeed section and a new substrate thickness compensation, further enhancing the machine’s substrate versatility. On the Gallus EM 280, a promotional label with eye-catching screen effects will be shown. The second application will be a food commodity label, which can be produced very cost efficiently on the Gallus EM 280.

The screen plates used will be Gallus’ new generation Screeny S plates, the first innovation emerging from the Gallus Group’s new production facilities for screen printing plates in Herisau, Switzerland, officially opened in June 2007. The latest generation Screeny S plates incorporate a new mesh/nickel plating, which makes the Screeny S plates more flexible and robust, and less vulnerable to damage from web splices or dust from paper substrates. The Screeny S plate is designed to be re-used up to six times.

At this year’s Labelexpo, Gallus introduces the Gallus Product Bar, a forum for discussions on print technology, processes and substrates. The Product Bar will be hosted by Gallus specialists who have a wide range of experiences working with converters, partners and suppliers of the label industry. Find your answers on how added-value is brought most effectively to your product decoration and what web width from 280mm to 850mm will be most cost efficiently for your demands. Self-adhesives, film, paperboard, paper, aluminium foil and other composite materials, we are looking forward being challenged.

Gallus will be promoting a new workflow advisory service which seeks to embed its presses in a culture of Lean Manufacturing to reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO). Find more about our new range of service products enhancing your productivity.
