Gidue to launch new package printing press

Italian printing and converting machinery manufacturer Nuova Gidue srl is to unveil a new press line later this month.
At an international open house on February 14-16, Gidue’s new M7 Xpannd line will be shown for the first time. The M7 Xpannd offers full platform configuration flexibility for the smooth interchangeability of printing and converting processes, Gidue said, with units for offset, flexo, screen and more easily removed and replaced on any platform in minutes.
Integrated in a lean working cell to allow for easy and effective changeovers, the versatile press has also been designed to fit into limited space (seven platforms and three dies in less than 8m) and convert a wide range of products from flexible packaging and carton boxes to labels.
Sauro Salvadori, Gidue’s M7 Xpannd project manager, said: ‘We wanted a compact, ultra-flexible labels and packaging press. Floor spaces are limited and markets change rapidly, while the M7 can grow and adapt to multiple substrates or processes. We ended up with a top-quality printing press, with the look of an easy and accessible tool.’
Federico d'Annunzio, Gidue managing director, said: ‘With the M7, Gidue completes a three-year program to renovate its product offering. We now serve the labels and packaging industry, from narrow to mid web, with a wide range of innovative technologies to produce added value and high-quality performance.’
The international open house will also highlight a new version of the M5 Digital Flexo Gidue press. A new enhanced SW and HW will be unveiled to perform automated digital set-up (pressure and register) with less than 20m of waste without intervention of the operator.
