Martin Automatic launches MBSC and STR machines

The new Martin Automatic MBSC splicer combined with an STR rewind provides roll automation for label presses with webs up to 330 mm. Running at speeds up to 150 m/min the new MBSC and STR combination is an upgrade that is claimed to boost productivity and reduce material waste to increase profit.
Gavin Rittmeyer, Martin’s VP of sales and marketing, said: ‘We are offering the new MBSC and STR as package at a special price that puts roll automation within reach of most narrow web label printers. The MBSC is not a cheaper version of our high-performance MBS splicer. They share the same operator and time-saving features, but the MBSC has been specifically designed for narrower web widths up to 330 mm and smaller roll diameters up to 800mm.’
The MBSC is based on the MBS splicer, and has the same patented rolling-shear splice unit, lift-and-load roll loading from the aisle, automatic roll side-lay for splice alignment and inertia-compensated festoon. It will also splice automatically at the push of a button either by operator-adjustable automatic roll diameter calculation, or by tail-grabber initiation as the web separates from the core.
