PPG to show durable PPG Teslin substrate at Labelexpo

New PPG synthetic material aimed at durable label applications

PPG will showcase its PPG Teslin substrate for adhesive coaters, label converters and packaging specialists at Labelexpo Europe 2019 on stand 8A13.

PPG Teslin substrate is a durable, secure and easy-to-print synthetic material suited to applications that demand a tough, high-performance label. The substrate contains micropores that absorb inks, toners, adhesives and coatings, locking them into its structure for long-lasting durability and security with no additional processing or expense.

This characteristic makes PPG Teslin substrate suited to applications that require printed data to remain on labels, such as brand protection, tamper-evident security, medical/pharmaceutical and in-mold applications. It is also used in the chemicals industry for labels that are compliant with the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals and British Standard 5609 (BS 5609).

‘We will be showcasing a variety of label solutions at Labelexpo Europe so visitors to our booth can touch and feel the print durability and quality,’ said Fabrizio Mandingorra, PPG global segment manager, Teslin labels. ‘Additionally, we will be sharing a case study on the success of PPG Teslin substrate for Premier Coating & Converters, one of our key customers in Europe.’

PPG Teslin substrate is compatible with a wide range of print technologies, from digital inkjet, laser and thermal transfer to flexographic and offset. It offers bubble-free application and provides a long-lasting adhesive bond that can endure extreme conditions. The static-dissipative nature of PPG Teslin substrate helps minimize static buildup during digital printing, improving throughput and print quality.
