UK-based Pulse Roll Label Products has launched an adhesive aimed at the linerless label market.

Designated UVPSA001, the product is intended to eliminate label backing materials that are often discarded as waste with associated costs and environmental implications.

Gary Seward, Pulse managing director, said: ‘We have developed this special UV pressure sensitive adhesive for multi-layer label assembly or linerless label applications through trials with our customers. The product eliminates the messy and more expensive hot melt process and can also be used as a standard adhesive for many other applications. UVPSA001 can be processed by conventional flexo printing.’

UVPSA001 is claimed to offer high tack, good adhesion and fast curing with low viscosity and solvent free chemistry. The final properties of the adhesive can be adjusted by the UV energy, temperature and type of UV lamp used.
