Norprint strengthens its print-and-apply capability
Norprint of Boston, Lincolnshire, one of the worlds longest-established label printers, has restructured its systems equipment business to meet growing demand. The re-structuring will reinforce Norprint’s strong commitment to automating all aspects of labeling through the production line by offering a wider product range and a clear focus on an individual company’s labeling needs.
‘We believe there is a growing requirement for industry-leading customer service, as traditional products become increasingly standardized and newer technologies are adopted,’ said Trevor Short, Norprint’s new head of systems equipment. ‘There is a lot more to label application than simply providing a machine that prints and applies labels. Requirements are often much more complex. Providing the right pre and post-support is paramount to understanding customer requirements.’
The new-look Systems Equipment business has been created in response to the demand from customers to meet specific end-user requirements and develop solutions for certain niche markets – an area which Norprint believes offers a significant growth opportunity for the company. It has already successfully developed bespoke label application systems in the chemical, marketing and food sectors, in particular.
The unit will be based at the company’s Boston headquarters and Trevor will be responsible for a nationwide team of sales experts, system design professionals, field service and software engineers.
‘By leveraging Norprint’s core competencies of being able to analyze the end user need and propose and deliver solutions both in terms of label and systems requirements we believe we can help them to achieve greater efficiency and add value to their business,’ explained Short, ‘In the future “standardized” suppliers simply won’t have the flexibility to meet specific requirements in areas such as service and support, bespoke development, programming, integration help and consumable supply.’
Customers will be able to purchase from a range that starts with entry level applicators and continues up to high tech servo - driven options. There will also be equipment available including the latest barcode readers/verifiers for Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) and a huge range of branded printer alternatives, coupled with one of the largest stocks of thermal transfer ribbons in the UK.
