Rogers’ ‘Father of Flexo’ remembered by FTA at 50th anniversary

The Flexographic Technical Association celebrated its 50th anniversary this past year and paid renewed homage to one of its founding members, Warren T. Taylor, who is fondly remembered as the ‘Father of Flexo’ by his employer Rogers Corporation.
Taylor began work at Rogers Corporation in 1969 and over the course of his career made considerable contributions to flexographic printing technology. He was inducted into the FTA’s Hall of Fame in 1976. He had long been associated with the FTA, holding a seat on the Board of Trustees from 1976 to 1980. He was also president of FTA during 1978 and helped oversee the dedication of the FTA’s new headquarters in Huntington Station, New York. The FTA still provides a scholarship in Taylor’s name.
Rogers’ products for today’s flexographic printing industry continue to revolve around its R/bak line of cushion mounting foams and tapes composed of open-cell urethane.
