Technical Paper Foundation acknowledges X-ident IQ-Labels

The creator of archive labels for identification and archiving of antique and sensitive documents and works of art, X-ident technology, has received an official confirmation of the long life time of its labels from Papiertechnische Stiftung (PTS) [Technical Paper Foundation] in Heidenau, Germany. Both the electronic components and the label materials received positive results on their archival properties. This makes X-ident’s archive labels the first product of its kind to be qualified by PTS for use in archivie and libraries.
’Last year we were the ones who initiating the development of a suitable transponder at UPM Raflatac with a guaranteed life time of more than 40 years,’ explained Dirk Boltersdorf, COO and project manager at X-ident technology. ‘Based on ICODE SLI-SY technology from NXP semiconductors, one of the manufacturers of RFID IC’s, and X-ident’s specially developed label design, this label is a real product innovation that will revolutionize archiving in [academic] libraries, city archives, and museums.’
The X-ident technology developed IQ-Label product line is ideal for identification and archiving of antique books, documents, and works of art as well as modern data carriers (CDs, DVDs, tapes).
For valuable and antique items X-ident uses a special adhesive coating that can be removed without leaving behind residue at any time and avoiding damaging the document.
Modern data carriers, where no adhesive may migrate through the plastic covers, can be labeled with the Long Life IQ-Label. These labels are used in libraries, CD and video rental stores and corporate data archives.
