Esko launches unified platemaking platform
Flexo Front End consolidates ripping, screening and calibration in a single software.
Esko has launched Flexo Front End, a software platform designed to consolidate ripping, screening and calibration for flexo platemaking into a single integrated workflow, reducing the need for multiple disconnected tools and manual configuration steps.
The platform connects PDF workflow and flexo platemaking production with imaging control, advanced screening and workflow management. Rather than requiring operators to evaluate multiple screening options, the software provides pre-defined configurations based on flexo applications and what Esko describes as decades of industry expertise. The company says the approach reduces setup time, trial-and-error calibration and inconsistent output across production sites.
Flexo Front End is available in four editions, Core, Spark, Crystal and Quartz, designed to scale with business size and production requirements. Esko said the platform can generate plate-ready files tailored to specific applications and hardware, with the aim of improving press performance, reducing makeready times and accelerating prepress workflows.
'Flexo platemaking has traditionally required assembling multiple tools such as RIP software, screening technologies, calibration systems and manual workflows, often resulting in inefficiencies and inconsistent output,' said Robert Bruce, flexo product manager at Esko. 'By combining critical processes into a unified platform, the software empowers platemakers to streamline operations and achieve predictable outcomes faster.'
