Stora Enso has upgraded its MediaCard single-layer board with improved bulk and stiffness to meet customer and market needs

MediaCard was launched in 2012 as a single-layer board with a double silk coated surface. It is produced at Stora Enso’s Uetersen mill in Germany with a double silk coated surface on either one or two sides.

Marcus Weise, business development manager at Stora Enso Speciality Papers, said: ‘We have learned from our customers that the smooth and silky surface of MediaCard in combination with its extremely high brightness and whiteness is highly appreciated by the brand owners and consumers.

‘With the improved bulk and stiffness we can reach a much wider market such as graphical and packaging applications which demand a remarkably high visual appearance.’

Eckhard Kallies, vice-president of Stora Enso Speciality Papers, added: ‘With the relaunch of MediaCard Stora Enso completes its packaging and graphical board offering for brand owners, designers, converters and printers.

‘The high-white, bright and silky smooth surface of MediaCard supports excellent print results and is suitable for a wide range of graphical end uses and packaging such as covers, folders, folding boxes, cards, tags, tickets, posters, game cards and shopping bags.’
