Actega has appointed Edgar Contreras as strategic account manager for new business development in its flexible packaging business line, and Shawn Hendrix as technical account manager, to strengthen its commercial and technical capabilities across North America.

Contreras has rejoined the company in a newly created role covering new business development across the US, Mexico and Canada, alongside international opportunities coordinated with partners in Central and South America. He was previously Actega's West Coast regional manager. His work will center on account penetration strategies for high-potential, multi-location accounts, engaging decision makers within complex organizations and coordinating cross-border resources.

Hendrix will support customers and develop business across Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and western Tennessee. He brings more than 25 years of experience in printing and packaging, spanning flexo, digital and offset printing, including over 18 years in plant and operations leadership. He was most recently operations manager at Genflex Labeling Solutions in Atlanta, which makes pressure-sensitive labels, tags and shrink sleeves. Before that he spent nearly nine years with WS Packaging Group / Multi-Color Corporation as production and plant manager, and held leadership roles at RR Donnelley. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Technology, Print Management, from Georgia Southern University.

'These two appointments reflect the scale of investment we are making in our North American business. Edgar brings the strategic account focus and cross-border commercial expertise we need to accelerate growth across our flexible packaging business line, while Shawn brings deep, hands-on understanding of our customers' manufacturing environments and technical challenges that allows Actega to engage as a true operational partner. Together, they strengthen our ability to serve customers at every level, from long-term account strategy through to day-to-day technical support, and I am confident both will make an immediate and lasting contribution to our growth across the region,' said Mell C Bishop III, vice president, flexible packaging at Actega North America.
