Innovia Films, a material science company and global producer of BOPP films, has been named a Champion of Fespa UK’s Waste Accreditation Program.

As a supplier of PVC-free polypropylene films, Innovia Films provides brand owners and converters with environmentally responsible alternatives that deliver high performance and quality. All films for the graphics market are manufactured at the company’s UK facility in Wigton, Cumbria, reinforcing its dedication to local production, reduced carbon footprint and secure supply chains.

'Becoming a Fespa UK Champion is an important milestone in our sustainability journey,' said Pieter du Plessis, market development manager – graphics at Innovia Films. 'We are proud to collaborate with Fespa UK and our industry peers to drive a transparent, circular approach to polypropylene film recycling in the UK. Together, we can make a measurable difference in building a more sustainable future for our sector.'

Through participation in the Fespa UK Waste Accreditation Program, Innovia Films will enhance industry collaboration by engaging with like-minded organizations through the sector’s not-for-profit association; ensure full accountability and traceability for the waste management of its self-adhesive polypropylene films, enabling end-of-life materials from customers to be responsibly collected and returned to its Wigton site; gain insights via quarterly reporting and data transparency to monitor handled volumes, participating customers and future recycling projections; and simplify participation for customers, with all logistics, financial arrangements and waste handling managed through accredited providers.

As a Champion, Innovia Films aims to demonstrate leadership in sustainable film production and actively contribute to a scalable, traceable circular system for polypropylene films in the UK graphics industry.

'Innovia Films’ commitment to local manufacturing and end-of-life responsibility sets a powerful example for the industry,' du Plessis said.
