KBA-Asia Pacific expands sales team for flexo presses

Koenig & Bauer is expanding its sales capacity further to meet increasing demand for flexo technology around the world, with Carina Shia appointed sales manager for Southeast Asia.

Shia has worked in the print industry for around 20 years and has collected a wealth of experience in pre-press gravure printing while working for a renowned gravure cylinder manufacturer. In her new role, together with the local KBA-Asia Pacific service team, she will support KBA-Flexotecnica with developing its market share in this region. Shia has already sold a second flexo press into Malaysia within a short period of time.

Koenig & Bauer identified flexo printing as having a global growth rate of four to five per cent, even higher in some regions. Improved print quality, based on mature pre-press and press technology, play a key role. Moreover, flexo printing inks contain a less solvents than gravure.

 Shia said: ‘We have a cutting-edge and extensive portfolio especially for our customers active in the growing packaging market. Together with our partners in the industry and our product range, I am certain that I will be able to win over many customers with this technology.’
