With a background as an application engineer and project manager for a machine manufacturer, Driessen is now ready to translate his technical knowledge into sharing expertise. He will work together intensively with Thijs Bodd, MPS technical product manager, and the MPS research and development department to achieve this.

In addition to responsibility in structuring and sharing valuable information about MPS’ existing and new innovations, Driessen will also keep an eye on developments in the label and packaging printing market.

He said: ‘As a mechanical engineer, Thijs has a rich background and extensive knowledge about the technical side of machine developments. With the information he and the R&D team provide, I will ensure these are made visible and communicated in an informative way, for example through our website, blogs, videos and infographics.’

MPS innovations that Driessen will focus on in the months ahead are, among others: improved web tension, slide-out ink drawer, iControl intelligent press interface and the flexible open ink system.

Driessen concluded: ‘MPS invests extremely well in constantly improving the quality, ease of operation and flexibility of their presses. However, a lot can be gained by mapping these technical innovations and making their features and benefits more visible and understood externally.’
