Reflex Group, one of the UK’s leading print and packaging companies, has invested in four new Nilpeter FA-22 flexo presses.
The collaboration between the two companies has evolved over many years, marked by a series of successful installations – including two FA-26 placed side-by-side at Reflex’s Newcastle site, which continue to demonstrate outstanding productivity and reliability. This latest investment builds on that proven performance and underlines Reflex’s commitment to future-ready flexo production.
Two of the new FA-22 lines are destined for the US, where Reflex has recently established a stronghold through the acquisition of Los Angeles-based CB Printed Technology. The remaining two presses will be installed in the UK to support the company’s continued growth, operational agility and diversification strategy. Several presses are already up and running, and the remaining lines will be commissioned over the coming months.
More than just standard label presses, the four new FA-22 lines introduce a broad range of advanced functionalities that significantly expand Reflex’s production possibilities. The equipment will enable the company to run everything from traditional labels to multi-layer constructions, peel-and-reveal formats of up to nine pages, sustainable linerless labels and a broad spectrum of self-adhesive packaging applications. In addition, the lines will support light carton production with window patching and back-and-front labels on the same liner.
With enhanced options such as screen printing, cold foil and multiple embellishment techniques, Reflex will gain new creative possibilities and greater flexibility in meeting customer demands. The investment also supports multi-platform job sharing across sites, enabling a more streamlined and resilient production network. As Reflex continues to scale internationally, this level of flexibility and standardisation is becoming increasingly valuable.
Among the four new lines, Reflex has also specified an FA-22 equipped with a Pantec embellishment unit. Pantec operates as a fully integrated, in-line converting platform, enabling high-end decorative and functional effects without compromising speed or registration. This includes advanced embellishment capabilities such as tactile and decorative finishes, complex multi-layer effects and premium brand enhancements, all delivered in one simple production flow. With Pantec, Reflex can elevate premium label and packaging applications while maintaining the same efficiency and repeatability as standard production.
This expansion comes as Reflex continues to extend its global footprint, now operating across seven countries: the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Poland, Australia and the US. With more than 1,000 employees and annual sales expected to reach around 200 million Euros, the company is cementing its position as a leading international supplier of labels, packaging and security print.
Nick Hughes, managing director at Nilpeter UK, commented: 'Reflex Group is widely recognized as the UK’s most forward-thinking print company, and it is a privilege to support them on their international journey. Their loyalty and commitment to innovation have been instrumental in building this partnership over the years.
'It is also encouraging to see that, even in today’s challenging climate, where tariffs and trade policies sometimes create artificial barriers, leading companies still place their trust in advanced European flexo technology. Ultimately, converters should be free to choose the press that best secures their future, based on performance, reliability, and long-term value. Reflex’s latest investment in four FA-22 Lines underlines both their confidence in Nilpeter and their determination to stay ahead in competitive markets.'
Ian Kendall, founder and CEO of Reflex Group, added: 'Nilpeter has consistently proven to be the ultimate frontrunner in flexo and a true pioneer in innovation. Over many years, we have built a strong and trusted relationship, and this latest investment reflects our confidence in both the technology and the people behind it.
'For us, Nilpeter presses are not just machines – they are enablers of growth, quality, and efficiency across our global business. With the new FA-22 lines, we gain capabilities that go far beyond standard label production, offering the versatility and performance required to support our long-term strategy. We look forward to continuing this collaboration as we expand further into new markets.'
Throughout the partnership, Nilpeter’s service and support have also played an important role in enabling Reflex’s continued investment. From earlier FA-Line installations to the latest commissioning process, the close technical collaboration, responsive service organization and consistent focus on uptime have been key factors in maintaining trust and ensuring strong operational outcomes across sites.
Kendall further shared: 'Our experience with Nilpeter’s service team has been great. They understand our business, respond fast and stay close to the process from installation through to production. That level of commitment has been a decisive part of why we continue to invest in Nilpeter technology across multiple sites worldwide.'
