Cosmo Speciality Chemicals launches CosmoFlex

Cosmo Speciality Chemicals, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cosmo First, has launched  CosmoFlex, an advanced analog printable coating system designed to enhance printability and ink adhesion on films used across flexible packaging and label applications.  

The new range has been developed to address a key requirement for converters and printers, achieving strong and durable ink adhesion across film substrates while maintaining performance under demanding storage and handling conditions. 

CosmoFlex is an eco-friendly primer that improves the printability and adhesion of water-based and UV-cured inks. The ready-to-use coating is designed for broad ink compatibility, including water-based and UV flexo, UV offset, thermal transfer, screen and letterpress printing. 

The product range includes two specialised solutions, CosmoFlex CB01 – developed for BOPP films and CosmoFlex CP02 – developed for PET films. 

Both products have demonstrated strong performance in tests evaluating ink anchorage, rub resistance and print durability. The coatings have also been tested under cold-water and deep-freezer conditions, making them particularly relevant for applications where labels and printed films are exposed to challenging storage environments. The launch comes as the packaging and labeling industry increasingly demands coatings that can support diverse printing technologies while delivering consistent performance across different substrates and end-use conditions.
