Polibak plans largest BOPP line in Turkey

Polibak, a plastic film producer in Turkey, has signed a contract with Brückner Maschinenbau for the future largest BOPP film production line in Turkey.

The line will be 10.4m wide and offer production speeds up to 525m/min. This equates to output of over 7,400kg of five-layer film per hour. This boosts Polibak’s capacities by 40 percent.

Polibak been producing BOPP and CPP film since 1994. The company has two facilities in İzmir which have a current annual production capacity of 130,000 tons of BOPP film, 25,000 tons of metallized BOPP film and 3,000 tons of CPP film.

Polibak board member Enver Bakioğlu said: ‘The demand for packaging films and also different label types, such as IML, is constantly growing, in Turkey as well as abroad. With our new line we will be able to optimally serve our local and export markets. Our conscious decision for such a big line is an important element for our future strategy in respect to sustainable growth.’

Polibak’s previous joint project with Brückner was an 8.7m BOPP line with an output of 6.5 tons per hour. Up to now, it is the largest line of this kind in Turkey.
