Watermill Press, now in its 21st year, is a manufacturer of product identification labels in the UK with clients including Marks and Spencer, Britvic, Princes Food and the Robert McBride Group. Its customer base uses the company’s label products to create high quality barcodes for case and pallet identification.

Watermill Press has been a customer of AB Graphic for most of its existence, including the installation of an Omega 410 label converting line complete with Vectra turret rewinder and fan folder in 2008.

All three of the new converting lines are fully servo driven, 530mm wide and have automatic tail and leader label stripping capability.

They are linked directly to heavy duty Vectra turret rewinders, and one line is fitted with three flexo print stations and adhesive printing facilities.

Watermill Press said it is among the first companies in the UK to deploy the 530mm-wide machines.

Watermill Press managing director Dale Deacon said: ‘Our investment is customer-driven after feedback from our clients highlighted their need for high quality products, faster lead times, more volume and lower production costs.

‘This new machinery is the best available anywhere in the world and client feedback has been tremendous.’

Mike Burton, AB Graphic managing director, said: ‘Our two companies have worked closely together over many years, developing new and improved capabilities and functionality on our machines, which have benefitted not only Watermill Press but also our other customers for our Omega range.’

‘Investing in technology is one of our key strategies for staying at the forefront on quality and price,’ Deacon added.

Watermill press has employed six new members of staff over the last 12 months to manage and operate its new machinery.
