Wipak adds four Comexi slitters

Packaging manufacturer Wipak Group has purchased four Comexi S1 DT slitters, which join a fleet of existing Comexi slitters and laminators already installed at several production plants around the world.

Three of the new Comexi S1 DT slitters will be integrated with the other Comexi’s slitters that the group has already working in its Walsrode plant, in Germany, in order to complete the automation project in its slitting section

Wipak and Comexi have had a working relationship since 2005 when the global group purchased its first Comexi slitter.

Three of the new Comexi S1 DT slitters will be integrated with other Comexi slitters that the group already has working in its Walsrode plant, in Germany, in order to complete the automation project in its slitting section. The fourth Comexi S1 DT slitter will be installed in the Wipak Group plant in Poland. Another Comexi slitter rewinder, purchased earlier by the group, has been recently delivered to Wipak Nastola.

Agustí Combis, Comexi key account manager, said: ‘They are slitters completely automatic, with high added value, dedicated to the conversion of flexible laminates and semi rigid materials such as the ones used for the food packaging. Materials that only innovative enterprises like Wipak develop.’

Wipak operates 10 factories in Europe in which develop and manufacture films and packaging options for food products and medical instruments and devices. It has a strong position among European suppliers of multilayer films, in particular barrier films. Wipak, and North American sister company Winpak, are part of the packaging division of the Finland’s Wihuri Group.
