Rosas enhances Leopard 300 RFID system
German inspection specialist Rosas Maschinenbau has expanded the capabilities of its Leopard 300 RFID inspection system by integrating code verification into the platform.
The family-owned company said the latest enhancement transforms the Leopard 300 from a tabletop RFID inspection system into a comprehensive RFID quality control platform, designed to improve traceability, production efficiency and quality assurance.
The upgraded Leopard 300 RFID combines ISO/IEC 15415 code verification with RFID encoding at speeds of up to 80,000 tags per hour. The system reads and grades printed QR codes and barcodes, then ensures accurate one-to-one data transfer to the corresponding RFID tag, allowing converters to verify both the printed and encoded data throughout production.
In addition to code verification, the platform can inspect the optical quality and functionality of RFID tags, inspect labels containing embedded RFID inlays, encode RFID data linked to matching printed codes, process and verify variable data, and automatically identify defective labels or tags for re-inspection or removal. Rosas said integrating these functions into a single platform helps reduce waste while improving production efficiency and overall quality.
The company will demonstrate the new technology at Loupe Americas 2026, where visitors to Booth 6133 can see the Leopard 300 RFID-equipped with the Erhardt+Leimer SMARTSCAN 200 percent inspection system and CSIC RAIN Xplorer RFID testing technology.
Also on display will be the Viper 750 rewinder, which features Rosas Maschinenbau's Infinity 4K inspection system. First introduced at Labelexpo Europe 2025, the Viper 750 combines inspection and finishing capabilities on a platform that operates at web speeds of up to 750m/min, targeting high-performance label and packaging production.
Sharing the booth with Rosas Maschinenbau, Graph-Tech US (GTUS) will showcase its LabelRunner digital imprinting system for labels and booklets. Based on the Rosas Gazelle 2 platform and integrated with the GTUS eZ-Colorjet industrial inkjet printer, the system combines Rosas' winding technology with piezo drop-on-demand printing to produce high-quality imprinted labels at high speed.
Maurice Rosas, head of production at Rosas Maschinenbau, said: 'Loupe Americas is an excellent opportunity to connect with label and packaging converters and showcase the new code verifier and our latest developments for the Leopard 300 RFID platform.
'We work closely with our customers to identify the right technologies and services to help them maintain their competitive advantage, and we welcome customized projects involving technical substrates, unique workflows and integrated production processes. For Rosas Maschinenbau, smart engineering means looking at the customer's complete production process rather than offering a standard machine for every application.'
