BST and Nyquist Systems to introduce technology at Labelexpo
BST Group and Nyquist Systems will unveil the TubeScan V8 inspection system.

At Labelexpo Europe 2025, BST and Nyquist Systems will introduce TubeScan V8, the latest generation of their inspection system for labels and narrow web applications. Built on a completely new software platform, BST TubeScan V8 combines advanced image processing with user-focused innovations that enhance speed, accuracy and ease of use.
Key innovations in TubeScan V8 are its Smart False-Defect Prevention for more stable inspection during press fluctuations; PDF comparison with many new features such as automatic image alignment; enhanced pharma mode, tailored for compliance and reliability; streak detection for pinpointing nozzle defects in inkjet printing; fully redesigned user interface that simplifies operation and reduces training time; and high-resolution, full-context defect images, enabling traceability and visual proof for every single fault.
One of the most common frustrations with high-resolution inspection systems may be the detection of 'false defects' — irrelevant anomalies that slow down production, create unnecessary rejections and confuse operators. TubeScan’s highly refined software distinguishes between critical print errors and harmless variations, ensuring only real defects are flagged accurately, reliably and in real time. The result: fewer interruptions, less waste and greater productivity.
BST TubeScan also introduces Multiplexing. Thanks to pulsed lighting and segment-specific matrix camera technology, multiple illumination modes can be used simultaneously. This allows for the concurrent inspection of different printing elements in a single pass. This could include, for example, white light for traditional 100 percent print inspection, UV light for detecting fluorescent inks or security features, and transmitted light for spotting pinholes or embedded RFID structures With this approach, there's no need for separate setups or lighting changes. Complex materials and embellishments can be fully inspected in one smooth operation.
From simple web monitoring to full high-resolution print inspection within digital workflows, TubeScan is scalable to meet any production or investment level. Its abilities include label counting, detection of missing labels or die-cut residues, rewinder control, and complete workflow integration. Advanced lighting options also make TubeScan suitable for demanding applications such as braille, metallic foils, security printing and high-end finishing.
BST TTBView is a newly developed top-to-bottom viewing system that ensures front-to-back alignment for printers and converters working with double-sided processes.
BST will also showcase its video web monitoring solutions at Labelexpo: BST PROView, a modular, high-performance system; BST PowerScope 5000, a cost-effective monitoring solution tailored for label and narrow web applications; and iPQ-Check Digital, a digital inspection for comprehensive quality control.
