Bellissima DMS comes to Spain via Flexographic Solutions

Aniken Graphics, a joint venture between Hamillroad Software and Apex International, has named Spain’s Flexographic Solutions (FGS) as the latest trade shop in the phase one roll-out of Bellissima DMS.

Hamillroad Software’s Bellissima digital modulated screening (DMS) technology for flexographic screening is said to deliver a ‘previously unobtainable level of image reproduction for flexo’. It is claimed to rival the quality of print typically associated with offset and gravure, and is ‘challenging digital as the future for flexible packaging and labels’. Apex and Hamillroad formed a strategic partnership to bring Bellissima DMS to market, resulting in the creation of Aniken Graphics.

Phase one sales of Bellissima DMS includes trade shops, converters and flexographic printers currently using Apex GTT anilox rolls and sleeves together with MacDermid Graphics Solutions’ Lux ITP 60 or DuPont’s EFX plates.

Confirmed trade shops in the phase one roll-out of Bellissima DMS include Chespa in Austria and Poland, Volkers in the Netherlands, Athena Graphics in Belgium and France, Carl Ostermann Erben in Germany and Cyber Graphics in the US.

Nick Harvey, managing director at Aniken Graphics, said: ‘We met with a number of trade shops and chose our partners for Phase One based on their proven track records and commitment to providing their customers, brands, and printers, with the very best flexo technologies available.

‘FGS demonstrated that it is a forward-thinking company which looks to new and advancing technologies to keep themselves and their customers ahead. We have approved FGS as part of the phase one roll-out to supply approved flexo plates, screened with Bellissima DMS, to brands and printers in Spain.’

FGS was established more than 20 years ago to focus on supplying pre-press services to the printers of the packaging market.

Joan Rodríguez, technical director at FGS commented: ‘The needs of the market pushed FGS to offer a pre-press service to the brand owners. With locations in Spain, Portugal, France, Italy and the US, we pride ourselves on being pioneers in the development and application of solutions for flat-top dot, advanced screen and engraving technologies, and color management. During this time, we have built and developed strong relationships with the main plate, screen, anilox, color management and workflow software manufacturers.’
