Schreiner MediPharm has offered specialty labels for autoinjectors for a number of years, and recently applied such products to SHL Medical’s pen injectors and autoinjectors in order to increase ease of use and lower the barrier for patients to use injection systems in public.

Schreiner MediPharm has also launched Flexi-Cap, a label and cap combination anti-counterfeiting system that features a first-opening indicator designed to prevent the illegal reuse of medicine containers under the guise of being unopened, original products.

Both of those products will be part of Schreiner MediPharm’s presence at Pharmapack Europe, running February 11-12 in the French capital, where it will also present new features for autoinjector labels, such as NFC chips.

Schreiner MediPharm said the integration of NFC chips enables electronic tracking, patient communication or monitoring patient compliance, while a printed QR code leads users to a website and important, additional information.

In the case of SHL Medical, the label is equipped with a hologram, and a printed QR code allows users to directly access the manufacturer’s website to receive further information, such as a demonstration video.
