Zeller+Gmelin has developed five new black inks and a gloss varnish that rounds off its Uvaflex FCM Y81 color series.
Uvaflex FCM Y81 now includes five different types of black, each suitable for different applications – a process set black (Y81-S1400), matte black (Y81-X40302), brilliant black (Y81-X40101) and a backside black (Y81-X40200), which cannot be overprinted. A fifth type of black, Y81-X40301, is designed for surface printing for lid applications. This product is claimed to offer increased scratch resistance.
The FCM Y81 series can be used universally on paper and film, and are applicable for applications such as self-adhesive labels, shrink sleeves, in-mold labels, wraparound labels, flexible packaging and folding boxes.
The new gloss varnish, YL-7G106, is a varnish that ensures safe handling during both printing and curing. It is bisphenol-A free, meets Nestlé's Guidance Note and has high abrasion resistance, according to Zeller+Gmelin. The varnish can easily be overprinted with standard thermal transfer ribbons.
