Durst opens South Korean customer center
The new 1,500 sqm facility in Gwangju combines technology, training and production.
Durst has opened its Customer Experience Center in Gwangju, South Korea, establishing a regional hub for the Asian print market.
The 1,500 square meter facility operates as a full production environment where Tau, K-Jet and P5 350 HS systems run daily, allowing customers to experience applications in real-world conditions rather than in a traditional showroom setting.
The center was opened in partnership with DdP Story, a relationship that began over a decade ago with Serom and has evolved into what Durst describes as a complete campus uniting technology, training and production.
‘This is not a typical showroom. It is a full real-world production environment where Tau, K-Jet, and P5 350 HS run daily and where customers can experience an impressive depth of applications that only live production can reveal,’ said in his LinkedIn post Christoph Gamper, CEO and co-owner of Durst Group.
South Korea today has more than 40 Tau installations, a highly motivated team of Durst-certified engineers and a complete label, packaging and hybrid workflow ecosystem.
‘A special recognition to Helmuth Munter, our former Durst Labels & Flexible Packaging manager. Now retired, he was the one who opened the door to this partnership more than a decade ago. Today’s milestone carries his imprint,’ added Gamper.
Bernard Sun, head of business development for South and East Asia, led the development of the center, with partners from across Asia attending the opening.
The facility is designed to serve as a regional hub for innovation, training and growth in the Asian print community, representing what Durst characterizes as a long-term investment in the market.
