Linx launches 9000 Series CIJ printer range
New continuous inkjet platform targets uptime, error reduction and easier operation.
Linx Printing Technologies has launched the 9000 Series, a new continuous inkjet printer range designed to reduce operator intervention, eliminate common downtime causes and simplify coding and marking on production lines.
The range includes Linx PrintProtect battery backup as standard, providing up to three minutes of continued printing during power outages before initiating an automatic shutdown and printhead cleaning sequence to prevent blockages. An extended battery feature allows the printer to be moved between production lines while powered on for up to nine minutes.
The 9000 Series is the first CIJ printer to communicate with external systems natively using REST API, eliminating the need for intermediate software. It also features GS1 code builder for error-free Data Matrix code creation, customizable printhead cleaning prompts, a 12-hour consumables countdown and enhanced QuickSwitch real-time communication with PLCs.
An optional Linx Iris vision system provides automatic code inspection for presence, positioning, readability and quality, connecting directly to the printer without additional hardware or software. An optional 50µm Mini printhead reduces ink consumption by up to 48 percent compared with the standard 62µm head, while an optional Active Airflow Control module can reduce solvent consumption by up to 42 percent. Service intervals extend to up to 24 months.
'The 9000 Series tackles the challenges that production managers have long had to accept living with, designing out the issues that industry manufacturers have traditionally treated as customer training problems,' said Mark Cooper, senior director of product and marketing at Linx Printing Technologies.
