Techkon partners with Screen Americas

Screen Americas will be including the Techkon SpectroDens Premium handheld spectrophotomer as a core component of each new customer’s Equios color management workflow technology. It will be also added to all configurations of the press series, including the TPJ 520ZZ, TPJ 520NX, and TPJ 520HD.

The SpectroDens was chosen by Screen for its ease of use, versatility, and color measurement accuracy. The tool offers the side-aperture design, ability to seamlessly switch between spot measurements and color bar scanning without requiring the purchase or installation of additional accessories. In the Screen color eco-system, the SpectroDens will play an integral role in capturing measurements to allow for color calibration of the press and to ensure the consistency of the Truepress across a variety of print media.

According to Techkon, the SpectroDens is the fastest handheld spectro-densitometer on the market with its measurement head allowing a single spot measurement every second. The high-resolution spectral engine fully complies with ISO-13655 requirements and enables spectral sampling in 10 nm intervals from 400 nm to 700 nm for even more accurate M0, M1, M2 and M3 measurements.  The unibody case is precisely machined from a single block of aluminum to maximize durability and reliability in harsh production environments.  Additionally, an encoder is embedded in the instrument and allows for scanning of color bars up to 40-inches in length in only 10 seconds without the need for additional accessories.
