AWA to introduce ‘real-time’ industry surveys
Alexander Watson Associates (AWA) I to introduce a ‘real-time’ industry survey as part of the program for its two seminars in Chicago in September, taking place the day before Labelexpo Americas 2014 opens.

The AWA Label Release Liner Industry Seminar and AWA Adhesive Technology Seminar both take place at the Hyatt Rosemont Hotel, Chicago on September 8. Labelexpo Americas 2014 takes place in Rosemont, Illinois on September 9-11.
The annual AWA Label Release Liner Industry Seminar, organized alongside Labelexpo Americas, will provide insights, in a global context, into release liner used in the label segment, which represents approximately 50 percent of all release liner produced, as well as the global label industry market, on which AWA president and chief executive officer Corey Reardon will present his company’s specialist market data. Further, Constantia Flexibles vice-president of marketing Dan Muenzer will evaluate the technologies which are today competing with pressure-sensitive label. The program also features in-depth presentations on aspects of label release liner, both paper and film; reducing release liner waste in label production; and developments in linerless labels.
The AWA Adhesive Technology Seminar, chaired by Ingrid Brase, market segment director for pressure-sensitive adhesives at Henkel, will include an overview of the pressure-sensitive adhesive technology market from Jackie Marolda, AWA’s senior consultant and vice-president. Presentations from Collano Adhesives, Henkel, Adhesive Research and BASF will cover topics such as new UV curing approaches for pressure-sensitive adhesives, tips for the successful production of labels using hotmelt pressure-sensitive adhesives, partnering with release liner manufacturers in the creation of adhesive materials and innovative water-based adhesives for double-sided foam tape.
AWA will conduct, with the delegates attending each seminar, a ‘real-time’ industry survey, the results of which will be presented and discussed at the end of the two formal programs.
