Konica Minolta partners with GM
Konica Minolta has teamed up with GM to offer UK converters a complete digital label production.
Konica Minolta has partnered with GM to provide UK converters with a complete end-to-end digital label production equipment, combining Konica Minolta's AccurioLabel technology with GM's DC350Mini.
The partnership is designed to help both commercial printers and established label converters meet the growing demand for short-run, premium-quality labels while simplifying entry into the digital label market.
Under the agreement, UK customers will be able to source both press and finishing equipment through a single supplier relationship, eliminating the need to procure systems separately. The combined equipment offers finishing capabilities including varnishing, lamination and die-cutting, with optional spot varnish and embellishment for high-value applications.
The modular nature of the DC350Mini also provides a scalable investment route, allowing users to start with a base configuration and add modules as production volumes increase. Optional in-line synchronization enables the press and finisher to operate as a single-pass hybrid workflow.
The offering is aimed at converters serving sectors such as artisan food and beverage, craft beer, spirits, cosmetics and private-label products, where demand for shorter lead times, rapid changeovers and premium label quality continues to rise.
John Hopkins, label and packaging consultant at GM, said: 'Customers entering the digital label market need both a reliable press and a flexible, easy‑to‑use finishing system. By combining Konica Minolta's AccurioLabel technology with GM's modular finishing platform, we can offer UK printers a complete, scalable solution that delivers premium quality with fast turnaround.
'This partnership is a perfect fit for a market where short runs, quick changes and high‑value applications are becoming the norm.'
Richard Kilduff, channel manager for commercial print at Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK), said: 'The digital label market continues to expand, creating new opportunities for print providers to diversify and develop additional revenue streams.
'Our partnership with GM allows us to deliver exactly that. We're excited to showcase GM's DC350Mini system at our Client Engagement Center and look forward to demonstrating the new opportunities this combined solution can unlock for our customers.'
GM's DC350Mini finishing line will be available for demonstrations at Konica Minolta's UK Client Engagement Center in London, with both companies planning joint customer visits and support activities.
The agreement reflects similar Konica Minolta-GM partnerships already established in other European markets and further strengthens Konica Minolta's position in the UK digital label sector.
