Bobst Accucheck nominated for international award

- Accucheck is first built-in zero-fault quality control system for folder gluers to ensure fulfillment of contracts

 

Packaging machinery manufacturer Bobst’s Accucheck in-line, zero-fault quality control system has been nominated for a 2012 Deutscher Verpackungspreis Award.

 

The Accucheck unit identifies problems originating anywhere in the carton production process, including print defects, surface faults and die cutting errors.

 

It checks every single carton in a production run in-line during the folding and gluing process.

 

Because the process is the last before the cartons are packed and shipped to filling lines, Bobst said Accucheck provides a final 100 percent check on production, which is ideal for today's packaging manufacturers who increasingly have zero-fault requirements in their contracts with brand owners and packers and fillers.

 

Deutscher Verpackungspreis is an international competition which publicly honors the most innovative packaging and packaging solutions of the year.

 

The awards encompass the entire supply chain from new materials, designs and machines to strategies, processes and application scenarios.

 

The Deutscher Verpackungspreis jury has nominated 58 packaging solutions for the award, with the Bobst Accucheck nominated in the Packaging Machines category.

 

Winners of a 2012 Deutscher Verpackungspreis Award will be announced at a ceremony in Nürnberg on September 24, prior to the start of FachPack 2012, and three of the winning innovations will be shown on the dvi Deutsches Verpackungsinstitute stand at that exhibition.

‘Just in itself this means that the system has been recognized as truly innovative by the panel of independent judges. Accucheck is already helping many packaging manufacturers meet the demands of zero-fault contracts and by the end of the year we will have installed many such systems, mainly across Europe, where the demand for zero-fault packaging is highest.’
