Soma furthers global ambitions

Soma designs and manufactures high-quality printing and converting machines for a wide variety of industries. Its portfolio encompasses CI flexographic presses, slitter rewinders laminators, mounter-proofers, die cutters and special purpose machines. The company serves an international market with representation and distribution channels throughout the world.

Held at the Hotel Majestic in Prague, the event formed part of Soma’s global marketing plan to support business expansion worldwide. Attendees listened to presentations led by Soma commercial director Pavla Kusa, Soma sales director Peter Lechner, Soma marketing manager Petr Blasko, and other members of the Soma sales and marketing team.

The second day of the meeting included demonstrations at the company’s Soma Globe technology and training center in Lanskroun, where attendees were able to see live jobs and changeovers on the new Soma Optima flexo press, which is aimed at the market for short run print work.

Additional topics discussed included new developments in converting equipment from Soma featuring the latest versions of the Venus III turret slitter rewinder and the Lamiflex laminating system.

Soma has previously detailed the opportunities it sees for its Optima flexo press in the narrow web label printing industry.
