Amica, Werosys partner for UV inkjet

At Labelexpo Europe 2017, Amica Systems Europe will present the Gemini 330 UV label press fully integrated on the Werosys roll-to-roll systemWerosys also launches Compact Hybrid at the show

Amica Systems Europe and Werosys have partnered to integrate full-color UV inkjet and servo driven roll-to-roll transport technology.

The partnership combines the experience of both companies – Amica Systems Europe as a developer and manufacturer of industrial inkjet systems, and Werosys, which specializes in label finishing and converting technology.

At Labelexpo Europe 2017, Amica Systems Europe will present the Gemini 330 UV label press fully integrated on the Werosys roll-to-roll system. Werosys demonstrates a hybrid option where the Amica full-color UV inkjet system is fully integrated – and can be combined with either semi-rotary or laser die-cutting and automatic slitting. Werosys also launches Compact Hybrid at the show.

Soren Pedersen, managing director at Werosys, said: ‘During our initial talks with Amica Systems we quickly came to the conclusion that a collaboration could enable both companies to develop a range of interesting products, which we see a clear need for in the market. By combining Werosys’ highly modular Compact platform with Amica’s unique UV inkjet technology, we developed a solution that can be combined with any Werosys Compact module to form a hybrid print and converting solution at a very competitive price point. The combination of a number of Werosys fully automated flexo printing modules with CMYK UV inkjet means that our customers can combine printing technologies – and perform final finishing for one-stop label production.’

Patrick Citroen, Amica Systems Europe managing director, said: ‘As Amica Systems is highly experienced in the field of industrial inkjet systems, we were searching for a partner with outstanding knowledge on roll-to-roll transport where we can integrate our modular inkjet system. With Werosys we have found a company with all the capabilities we were looking for and, above all, the flexibility to act fast and professional to serve our needs.’
